Dreamers
My biggest dream is to be a drummer. Sure it would be great to make it big and be a metal drummer making millions of dollars, but if I was simply performing in bars and live shows then my dream would be fulfilled. But there are dangers of dreaming. Your dream reflects upon your actions so if my dream was to become a drummer, I would spend time drumming instead of doing other things. This effects my life. But if I spend too much time drumming then bad occurances may occur. like a lack of commitment to a job, or a late assignment like this one. This differs from dreams that may have been made in the past. All the opportunities given to the society today makes dreams much more and far different then the dreams like the american dream. The american dream itself proves that most dreams by the working man were the same. And there was barely any really famous people.

This summer was a blast. It wasn’t the best summer of my life but I still had some great first time experiences that I will never forget. Good times and bad times, this summer was a gooder.
I did lots this summer and one of my all time favorite pastimes of summer was never let down… I slept in everyday until at least and at most . Only once did I wake up at O’ clock to do labor for my grandmother at her 1.5 acre land. But enough of that. I learned that great things can be achieved on the internet besides basic knowledge learned from googling stuff, and cooking recipes. This summer I took a four hour exam to get my boat license. You were given twenty minutes to study several different parts of the exam. Then a ten part mini quiz at the end of each, and if you failed you have to restart each section. Then at the end of the exam, you have to take the mother of all exams with 50 questions and if you fail that you have to restart all over. All done completely online! After I muscled through this exam I was able to drive a boat or PWC (that’s Personal WaterCraft) anytime anywhere I wanted!
The first time I really started using my boat license was at the naramata fair. I was driving my fathers PWC and driving with my half sister Amanda and her boyfriend Kelsey. We were really tearing it up on the water ripping it up highway speeds on the open lake. Because I’ve never driven a boat in my life, I would take the opportunity for something new like that to experience in a second. I haven’t in my life done that before but many others have; which leads me to something I’ve done this summer that some never will in their life. My first live gig with my rock/metal band Oversoul.
Were a garage band that just recently hatched into the rock and roll world. After a day of jamming and revising our performance until near dawn, we started up towards the gig. Now, don’t get me wrong here. This gig was no bar or even paid performance but rather a good time and great opportunity for our band to actually perform… For real. The place wasn’t far away and it was our headman’s dad’s friend that set it up. It was a homemade stage in this dudes backyard. When we arrived about 20-30 people were inside dancing and partying while we waited in anticipation. The band that was playing before us were performing “hotel California” by the Eagles. And just as they were finishing up out of nowhere the bassist guitar string broke. So we came up to the stage, the light flashing in our face. We began our intro line and BOOM! We began our jam. We had 3 originals, two heavy rock and one bluesy cool. And just as we finished, my bassist string broke! What a coincidence I couldn’t believe it. As we came off the stage we got congrats and the day was over faster then it had begun.
So that was pretty much my summer. Hopefully this year Oversoul will be able to perform in the talent show this year. If Dr. Grant will ever let us set up for the performance. Astalavista
